Summer weekends have been pretty busy and thus
cyclosportif opportunities quite rare, so when Sunday
22 August opened up I found the nearest one and went for it...with questionable

Today Floyd Landis has finally topped himself, bringing his dog and pony show full circle with a last-ditch, eleventh-hour, you're-all-going-down-with-me (please add any other cliches you can think of) round of accusatory emails aiming to bring down many of his former bosses and teammates. Given his demonstrated capacity for revenge by any means available, I hope he never reads the following letter.

Cycling in France

Everyone knows that professional
cycling is a big deal in France. What is less commonly known—at least
outside of cycling circles—is how wonderful of a place France is to ride a
bicycle. Any bicycle: road, mountain, hybrid, cruiser, motor-assisted...they
all have a respected place in society, be it as a means of transportation,
exercise, competition or
museum piece. As an American cyclist, this all came as a
wonderful shock to me: read on to learn all the ways that cycling in
France is better than in the United States.
